Ontario’s governing Liberals want to take the lead in improving education for First Nations, but Premier Dalton McGuinty says Ottawa still needs to pick up the tab.
McGuinty’s minority government made the pledge to improve First Nations education in Tuesday’s throne speech.
Afterward, McGuinty said he’s extended an offer of help to the
Harper government, who he says “isn’t good” at providing
education.
But NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says aboriginal communities need
better living conditions and clean drinking water too.
