Proboard Limited in Receivership

The news continues to get worse for the Town of Atikokan!
Proboard Ltd. has gone into receivership, leaving 145 fulltime employees out of work.
CEP Spokesperson Brian Stimson says staff have been told they will not be receiving severance, sick, vacation or back pay.
The receiver has stated he will try to find a buyer.
In the short term, he has told CEP he will try and find the finances to keep some operations running during the winter.
The news combined with previous layoffs at the Sapawe Mill has left the situation in Atikokan dire.
Over 300 workers and their families are now collecting unemployment.
Proboard Ltd. has not been available for comment.
