Encouraging news for those against a Dryden bypass.
Before last weeks election, Transportation Minister Frank Klees wrote City staff saying a bypass is not being considered.
The MTO continues to study ways of alleviating the congestion on Highway 17 through the City, and Mayor Sid Wintle calls the letter a good first step.
With the change of power, the City plans to speak with the new Minister about the MTO’s plans as soon as possible.
Wintle says they want to ensure they have the financial backing to improve the City’s connecting links.
