Promoting Clean Energy In Northwestern Ontario

Local and aboriginal communities are eligible to receive funding under two new energy plans established by the Provincial Government.
The Municipal Energy plan and the Aboriginal Community Energy Plan are both designed to help communities focus on increasing conservation and help identify the best infrastructure options.
In addition, the plans will allow participating communities to assess their greenhouse gas emissions and support economic development.
Small and medium sized as well as aboriginal communities will be eligible for up to $90,000 to develop a plan, while remote First Nations can receive up to $95,000.
For more information on the Municipal plan, visit http://www.energy.gov.on.ca/en/municipal-energy/ and for details on the Aboriginal Community Plan visithttp://www.aboriginalenergy.ca/acep.
