Pronger to Edmonton

Former Dryden Eagle Chris Pronger is moving to Edmonton.

Pronger was traded to the Oilers from St. Louis for defencemen Eric Brewer, Doug Lynch and Jeff Woywitka.

Pronger is a former Norris Trophy winner as the NHL’s best defenceman, and has played in four all-star games, while also representing Canada twice at the Olympics.

In his career, the 30 year old has 400 points, with 94 goals in 722 games.

Pronger won the Hart and Norris Trophies in the same year, and was the first to do it since Bobby Orr in 1972.

The Dryden native was the second overall pick in hte 1993 NHL entry draft.
