Protecting the Wolf Population

The Ministry of Natural Resources is taking stronger measures to
protect the Province’s wolf population.
Spokesperson Jolanta Kowalski says starting in September anyone
wanting to kill a wolf will have to purchase a special seal and a small game
license.
Kowalski says the new regulations won’t affect trappers or people shooting wildlife to protect their property.
There will also be a closed wolf season in Northern Ontario from April 1st to September 14th.
