Province Cites Delay In Long Term Care Home Inspections

The opposition at Queen’s Park is asking why the government is breaking its promise to inspect all of the province’s long term care homes by the end of this year.
They say with just four weeks to go, 60% of homes have not been inspected.
Deputy Long Term Care Minister Dipika Damerla says it’s a work in progress
The government says any remaining homes will be given inspection notices by the end of this year and they’ll all be inspected by the middle of January.
The NDP’s Teresa Armstrong says it appears the province will not be able to meet its own deadline.
