The provincial government is taking part in a national initiative tackling invasive species.
Natural Resources Minister Bill Mauro says it’s important to work with their counter-parts to tackle the problem.
Mauro says he requested the task force at a meeting of provincial and territorial ministers earlier this month.
He notes in the past the province has been more reactive when dealing with zebra mussels and the emerald ash borer.
Mauro feels the Invasive Species Act will help them be more vigilant in keeping the pests out of Ontario.
