Province Looking for Forest Fire Free Labour Day

Natural Resources Minister David Ramsay says he hopes there isn’t a
repeat of some previous Labour Day weekend forest fires.
Ramsay says more than 130 fires have been started during the last
weekend of summer in the last 10 years, and he’s hoping for a forest
fire-free weekend.
There are now 34 active fires across Northwestern Ontario.
There have been more than 1,400 fires burning in the
Province so far, compared to more than 1,700 that consumed more
than 42,000 hectares by Labour Day weekend last year.
