Province Needs to Invest in Seniors Housing

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is being asked to cough
up more money for seniors housing in the Kenora District.
The Provincial Government has promised $900,000 for
renovations at the Parkview Apartments in Kenora, but NDP Leader Howard
Hampton says that’s simply not enough.
The Kenora-Rainy River MPP says the funding is only about a third of
the projected cost to renovate the Apartment complex.
Last week, the Kenora District Services Board rejected the lowest
$2.5-million bid for Parkview renovations.
