The Ontario government is touting its cap and trade program.
Environment Minister Chris Ballard says they have brought in $2.3-billion from five recent auctions.
Ballard says every penny of those proceeds have to be invested in Ontario to improve the way of life for local residents.
He says families, homeowners and businesses are benefiting as a result.
Ballard notes the measure is also reducing our use of fossil fuels.
