The provincial government is getting some rare words of encouragement from Ontario’s Acting Environmental Commissioner.
In her annual report, Ellen Schwartzel says the Liberals decision to save the Experimental Lakes Area, west of Vermilion Bay, is money well spent.
Schwartzel says the ELA has contributed game changing science to issues like pollution, acid rain and mercury and aquatic food chains.
She notes the $2-million the government is spending each year for the world-class scientific research centre is a sound investment.
