The Ontario Trillium Gift of Life Network is urging local residents to take two minutes of their time to register as an organ donor.
The province is still plagued by long waiting lists and the need for urgent care.
President Ronnie Gavsie says you can register by visiting www.beadonor.ca
You must be over the age of 16 and have an Ontario Health Cared.
Although donor registration rates are on the rise, Gavsie stresses they have a long way to go.
Gavsie notes one person waiting for a transplant dies every three days.
She says they can’t stop being relentless in their pursuit by engaging the public, community leaders and government officials.
