We’ll find out today (Tuesday) which area schools will offer full-day, all-day kindergarten for the school year that starts in 2011.
This would be the second phase in rolling out the program.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has listed Riverview School in Dryden as its top priority for full-day kindergarten, followed by Ignace, Lillian Berg School, Keewatin and Ear Falls.
The province has pledged $200-million toward the all-day program for the next year and $300-million for an additional 15,000 students in the second year.
There is also another $245-million to build classrooms to accommodate the program.
