The Provincial Government announced $17 million for projects in Northwestern Ontario this week.
Northern Development and Mines Minister Jim Wilson has been touring the Region.
Wilson admits that with a Provincial election on the horizon, the funding announcement were timely but denies the funding is just a ploy to buy votes in advance.
He says all the grants came from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
Wilson was the guest speaker at a Tory fundraiser Wednesday night for the Kenora-Rainy River Riding Association.
Meantime, the Liberal Riding Association will acclaim Geoff McLain as their candidate in Dryden Saturday afternoon.
