Provincial Funds For Local Mining Project

Avalon Advanced Materials is getting a helping hand from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

The junior exploration company has received a grant of $500,000 to help develop a new way of processing the lithium from its Big Whopper site north of Kenora.

Company President Don Bubar says they still don’t know the exact size of the lithium deposit by Separation Rapids.

Bubar says they still haven’t found an end to the project at depth.

Bubar adds right now they have identified a minimum ten year mine life, but they will conduct more drilling to determine if it can be expanded.

He says the grant will help them create and support 14 new jobs in the area.
