Provincial Liberals Revamped Ontario Municipal Board Under Critique

The provincial government doesn’t seem interested in adding a northern representative to a revamped Ontario Municipal Board appeals committee.

The Conservatives requested the change at a committee hearing Monday.

Municipal Affairs minister Bill Mauro, who is a northerner, wouldn’t commit changing the membership of the committee and says if that is the Conservatives only complaint, then the plan is in a pretty good place.

Conservative critic Norm Miller says it’s just another case of Queen’s Park ignoring the voice of northern Ontario.

Critic Vic Fedeli adds that MPP Lou Rinaldi has shown once again his contempt for the north.
