Provincial NDP Urging Government To Adopt Pharmacare Plan

The provincial NDP say they have a plan to help those suffering from diabetes.

Health Critic France Gelinas is asking the government to support their universal Pharmacare plan.

Speaking in the Legislature, Gelinas stated with no public drug coverage, Ontarians are having trouble making ends meet.

She says the cost of essential medicines, including insulin, can reach as high as $1,000 a month.

Gelinas notes the NDP plan will provide drug coverage for all Ontarians, regardless of age or income. She says it would save the lives of 830 diabetic patients each and every year in Ontario.
