The union representing Treaty Police officers says it wants a mediator to try and resolve the issues it has with the police board.
Public Service Alliance of Canada Regional Vice President Sharon De Sousa says her members are willing to sit down and talk.
She says there has been a lot of misinformation and financial documents that are not transparent, adding they are open to renegotiating the collective agreement if they need to, but they need to understand the financial position.
What PSAC is trying to do is get everyone to the table and settle it there with a mediator, rather then through the media.
De Sousa says many police officers really don’t trust their employer, and seem in favour of finding a solution.
Meanwhile, De Sousa says they plan to lobby both levels of government for more funding.
