Public School Board Approved for Extra Trustee

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has received Provincial approval to elect 10-trustees in this Fall’s Municipal Election.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says the Board has decided to go with an Alternative Distribution system.
Ignace, Ear Falls, Machin, Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake will be able to elect 1-Trustee each.
Pickle Lake is grouped with Upsala and Savant Lake for 1-position.
Kenora is linked with Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls and will be able to elect 3-trustees under the system.
The Board applied for the 1-extra member after gaining control of 3-additional schools.
