Public School Board Director Letting Premier Do His Job

The Director of Education for the Keewatin Patricia District School Board has no problems with the education decisions made by the PC’s.

Doug Ford has been criticized in southern Ontario for changes to the Sex Ed curriculum and cuts to specialized programs.

Sean Monteith says people should let the government do their job.

Monteith says “if you don’t have all the information, then why make a statement if you’re not clear on what you are commenting on.”

He adds “I think it’s incumbent on us to wait for the decision to be made and try and understand the decisions.”

Monteith adds the government hasn’t done anything to impact operations at the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.

He notes education is expensive and they aren’t in the investment banking business.

Monteith adds nobody should be surprised that the Premier is turning to education when looking at savings and efficiencies.

Monteith stresses that he leaves the politics to the politicians, noting his business is kids.

He says if cuts were made to impact classrooms, kids and vulnerable children, then he will have something to say.
