Public School Board Expecting A Big Year

A new school year brings with it change, not only for students and teachers.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has received the results from an audit of the entire organization.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says they will be acting on the recommendations with the help of principals and vice-principals.
Monteith the changes will transform the entire organization in order to serve all students across the district.
Monteith says the recommendations could result in some significant break through’s in how they do business.
He says he’s anticipating an exciting school year as several big announcements could be coming down.
The Board is also continuing to put a major emphasis on technology.
Grade 4 students across the board will be equipped with their own Dell Chrome notebook this year.
Monteith says it’s an important investment and notes the notebooks are a valuable learning device and levels the playing field for all kids.
