The Keewatin-Patricia School Board is preparing to say goodbye to a number of trustees.
Director of Education Sean Monteith says Monday’s Municipal election will mark the end of a four year term for several individuals.
Dave Penny is winding down his time with the public school board after 15 years as Chair.
Monteith says he will be missed, stressing he has been a very strong and measured leader for the Board.
Penny is running for a seat on Council in Ignace.
Monteith says new blood is important as it brings fresh ideas and a different perspective on the public education system.
However, he mentions they are welcoming back a couple of returning trustees, noting it’s important to have them return as they understand the system and the fact governments come and go.
