The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board won’t decide the fate of 3-Dryden area schools until next February.
The Committee looking at the future of the facilities has presented 2-recommendations to the Board including the consolidation of Pinewood and Riverview, with a new school at the Riverview site.
Wabigoon would be renovated.
The second recommendation calls for the consolidation of Pinewood and
Wabigoon, with a new school at the Pinewood site.
Riverview School would also be replaced.
However, the Board can also make its own decision which could include the construction of a so-called ‘Super School’ to house students from Pinewood, Riverview and Wabigoon.
Superintendent of Finance Dean Carrie says the options range in price starting at $14 million and go as high as $16 million.
