The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is being recognized for its healthy living programs.
16 schools within the public board have received Ophea Healthy Schools certification.
Recreation and Wellness Lead Lorna Tremonti says the participating facilities signed up back in October and they all became certified at the end of April.
Tremonti was pleased to see that they had a 100% participation rate among high schools.
She credits their partnership with the Northwestern Health Unit.
The honour recognizes and celebrates schools for promoting and enhancing the health and well-being of students, school staff, and the broader community.
