Public service salaries going up

There are more and more public service workers in the Kenora and Rainy River Districts making over 100 thousand dollars a year.

The provincial government has released its annual
survey of public sector salaries.

As usual, doctors and lawyers top the list of the
best paid civil servants, but teachers are starting to catch up.

Dr. Pete Sarsfield, the Medical Officer of Health at the Northwestern Health Unit pulled in an annual salary of 191 thousand dollars last year.

Meanwhile, the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board had the most employees pulling in a wage of more than 100 thousand dollars a year, with eight people making the list this year.

Superintendant of Education, Janet Wilkenson topped the list at 142 thousand dollars annually.
