Members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union are moving closer to being in a legal strike position.
Dryden-based OPSEU spokesman Carl Bleich says contract talks with the provincial government have not been going well.
OPSEU says it is fighting to rebuild a devastated public service which has suffered with the elimination of public workers and the contracting out of government services.
Bleich represents about four thousand workers in the Northwest including those who work for the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Labour.
He adds OPSEU members could be in a legal strike position as of March 13th.
Some essential members such as MNR Fire Centre workers and court employees will not be able to walk the picket lines.
