Public Works Crews Clean-Up

Dryden Public Works crews fared well against the odds in dealing with the bizarre weather we had this week.
Operations Manager Blake Poole says there was no surface flooding despite the rain, freezing rain and 20cm of snow that landed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Poole says they were concerned that the snow would freeze causing sewer backups however he notes they did not experience any problems.
After taking some criticism about not plowing the streets, Poole says they were prepared to do so but they did not want to block any of the catch basins which could have made things much worse than a day of driving through the slush.
Several homeowners and businesses were not as fortunate as they are still dealing with leaky ceilings and flooded basements.
