Push For Northwest Medical School

The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association is pushing for a full-fledged medical school in Thunder Bay.
NOMA has been placing full-page ads in newspapers outlining how a medical school in Sudbury will have few benefits for the Northwest.
Dryden Mayor Sid Wintle says it will be more advantageous for this region to have a full medical school campus in Thunder Bay.
Wintle says it is more expensive for students in this region to go to school in Sudbury than it is for them to go to Toronto.
As it stands now, the new northern medical school will have its main campus at Laurentian University in Sudbury with some clinical training in Thunder Bay.
