The Trillium Gift of Life Network is urging northerners to sign-up to become an organ donor.
Only 32% of Ontario residents have formally registered their consent.
President and CEO Ronnie Gavsie says the low rate may be because of some misconceptions, noting everyone has the potential to become a donor regardless of their medical history.
She stresses it’s best to never rule yourself out.
Gavsie says one organ donor can save up to eight lives and enhance as many as 75 more through tissue donations.
