The Education Director for the Lac Seul Education Authority wants an Elementary School established in Frenchmans Head.
Richard Morris says that a new facility would retain First Nation language and culture and give kids a sense of identity.
Hudson School currently offers some Ojibway instruction however Morris wants to see a curriculum centred around the language.
The new facility would not be restricted to First Nation children, but open to everyone who lives in Hudson.
The time line is 3-5 years and 90% of the students will live in Frenchmans Head.
