Quick Thinking Saves Lives

With quick thinking and a fire extinguisher, a Staff Member at a Dryden Group home saved lives, and property. Dryden 911 dispatched the Police and Fire Services to a Cecil ave. residence late Monday morning. On Arrival, crews found a staff worker and 3 youth outside who reported the fire burning in the bathroom. Dryden Fire crews entered the smoke filled home to find the fire had been extinguished. After evacuating the 3 occupants and calling 911, the staff member used a portable fire extinguisher to knock down the flames and helped to confine the fire to the bathroom before escaping the heavy smoke to the outside. There is some minor smoke damage reported. The Dryden Police Service is investigating.
