It seems like everyday there’s a report of new forest fires in Northwestern Ontario.
However the Ministry of Natural Resources says things have been pretty quiet, adding there haven’t been any new fires in a couple of days.
Currently, there are 35-fires active in the region and 32 of them are being monitored.
To date, there have been 272 fires in Northwestern Ontario, which have burnt a combined area of 38,990 hectares.
With rainfall expected over the next few days, the forest fire hazard is expected to be in the low to moderate range.
Until the rain hits, the hazard is moderate for this portion of the region, and high in the the far North.
