Quiet Start To Forest Fire Season

Almost two months into the forest fire season and not a lot of activity for Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry fire crews.

Since April 1st, 54-fires have burned just 156.5-hectares of land across the northwest.

The Dryden and Kenora districts have seen a good chunk of the activity.

Currently there are no active fires, and with recent rain and cool temperatures, the forest fire hazard is remaining low to moderate across the region.
