The Keewatin Patricia District School Board is embracing
Northwestern Ontario’s cultural diversity.
The public board updated its racial and ethno cultural
equity policy at Tuesday night’s school board meeting.
Superintendent of Education Larry Hope says they continue
to promote language programs for Ojibwy and Oji-Cree.
The board is also implementing character development
programs based on the 7 Grandfather teachings that focus on
understanding and acceptance.
The board aims to reflect Northwestern Ontario’s multi-
racial and multi-cultural populations in school activities.
The policy was updated to include the board’s new multi-
cultural initiatives.
