Ice Huts-MNR #1

The Ministry of Natural Resources is reminding the ice

fishing public that huts need to be removed from area

lakes.

Owners who abandon their ice shacks or store them on

Crown land, islands, the shore, or access points are in

violation of the Public lands act.

Enforcement Officer Mat Brooks says abandoned shacks

pose environmental damage to waterways.

Q:”…later.” 19 seconds

Brooks notes abandoning your shack could prove costly,

with a range of fines and the possibility of being liable

for removal costs.
