Rain provides some fire relief

Over the past two days, over 40 new wildfires have been reported across northwestern Ontario.

Fire information officer, Debbie McLean says while a storm system which passed through the region last night should provide some relief, its likely to be short lived.

N007 Q: …new fires. (20 secs.)

McLean says most of the new fires have been the result of lightning strikes.

One of the new blazes was caused by a logging truck that caught fire on the English River Road, about 80 kilometers north of Kenora.
