Rainy River Board feels teacher talks going well

Despite a recent strike vote by its elementary teachers, the Rainy River District School Board maintains contract negotiations are going well.

Public school trustee Ron McAlister notes there are virtually no outstanding issues on the table at this time.

McAlister adds an issue such as teacher preparation time is directly tied to provincial funding.

Over the past few weeks, the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario has been holding strike votes across the province.
