Students in the Rainy River District are expected to benefit the most from a two million dollar financial surplus according to public school board officials.
The board approved the audited financial statements for the 2003-2004 school year at this week’s regular meeting.
School Trustee Ron McAlister, who chairs the finance committee, notes the reinvestment of surplus money will add life to existing programs and create new initiatives for students.
The money will also go toward buying additional computer software and equipment, textbooks, classroom resources and school maintenance.
