The Minister of Natural Resources is predicting better times ahead for the forest industry in northern Ontario.
David Ramsay was in Thunder Bay this morning to announce
1.3 million dollars for Bowater to upgrade one of its paper machines.
The money comes from the government’s Forestry Prosperity Fund, and Ramsay says the program is starting to pay dividends.

Delegates at the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association’s Regional Conference had been hoping that Ramsay was going to announce a new regional energy plan for the forest industry, and were disappointed that wasn’t part of today’s announcement.
