Forestry funding from Ramsay

The struggling forest industry in northwestern Ontario
got a small shot in the arm from the provincial government.

The Bowater Pulp and Paper Mill in Thunder Bay receieved
a 1.4 million dollar grant from the Forestry Prosperity fund to help convert one of the paper machines.

Natural Resources Minister David Ramsay made the announcement and says it represents the future for pulp and paper mills across the region.

N001 Q: …to go. (22 secs.)

Delegates to the Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference had been hoping Ramsay would make an announcement about a regional pricing system for the forest industry, but it wasn’t part of today’s funding package.
