Comments by one of the candidates for the leadership of the Ontario Conservative Party has drawn the ire of teachers unions.
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has stated he would make strikes by teachers illegal if he were Premier.
Pam Constable is the Chief Negotiator for striking education support staff at the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and says Flaherty has shown in the past that hes not a big supporter of teachers and his comments sound like the words of a desparate politician.
As for the 2-month old strike by education support staff, Constable says there has not been any indication if or when talks will resume.
