Dryden Recreation Programmer Shannon Brennan is working to open a new
Youth Centre at the High School.
The 35-hour-a-week operation would run Monday to Friday during the
Summer and Thursday to Sunday during the school year.
Brennan says he will submit a funding application to Health Canada this
week.
Staffing costs would amount to $400,000 over 3-years but
the entire project is worth over a million dollars with in-kind donations.
Brennan says the long term goal is to create a community board
overseeing the Youth Centre and the implementation of a ‘Community Drug
Strategy.’
