A member of a regional police force was singled out for recognition recently.
Detective Constable Alana Morrison of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) was the recipient of The ‘Law Enforcement Professional of the Year’ Award presented by the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE).
Detective Alana Morrison was nominated for her work in pioneering and engineering the Survivor Assistance Support Program (SAS), a newly- established victim services unit.
In addition to that, she continues her position as a Detective in the NAPS North West and Central Region Crime Units.
Detective Morrison was nominated by Nishnawbe Aski Police for her leadership and she was selected from all nominees to be recognized by the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement Advisory Council.
