Two young teens are facing stiff charges for uttering threats.
Provincial Police investigated threats involving two schools in Red Lake on Tuesday.
Police worked closely with both schools in identifying the youths involved.
As a result, a 14-year-old youth from Red Lake was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The youth was held in custody for a bail hearing and subsequently released to attend the Ontario Court of Justice – Youth Court on May 10, 2018 in Red Lake.
A 13-year-old youth from Red Lake was arrested and charged with two counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
That youth is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Youth Court in Red Lake on May 10, 2018.
Red Lake OPP say they take all public safety threats seriously and they will continue to work closely with both schools to ensure the safety of staff and students.
