Recognizing Physiotherapy Month

It’s Physiotherapy Month and Firefly is continuing to highlight the help they can provide to youth in the Kenora and Rainy River districts.

Physiotherapist Mikko Maunula says their ultimate goal is to help kids be kids and keep them moving as best they can.

“There are developmental services for children 0 to 18 in years. We are a community based service so that means we offer services to best serve families through our centres, or at their homes, even at their school.”

Maunula says being physical is intertwined with having a healthy mind.

“So many studies have shown that physical activity helps with our emotional and mental health but a host of other health benefits. It can come in so many different forms and it can be accessible to everybody.”
