Record Turnout For Turkey Trot Race

Some 440-elementary and secondary students braved the elements and a challenging course to compete in the annual Dryden Turkey Trot Race Thursday at Sandy Beach.

The event was a success thanks to a great support system according to organizer Mike Wood.

Wood says he had an amazing volunteer team in place to help host schools from across the Kenora and Rainy River ridings.

Wood adds the event wouldn’t be possible without the support from the city and he believes everyone had a great time.

This year featured the first Grade 3-4 race, which was met with high praise from organizers and participants.
