Recycle Association Hikes Municipal Levies

The Northwest Ontario Recycle Association is asking municipalities in the region to pay 70 percent more for blue box service in the New Year.
The cost per capita will go from 10 dollars to 17 dollars on January 1st.
NORA Chair Dennis Brown says the association needs the extra money to make ends meet and decrease the deficit.
Brown says if the per capita levy is not decreased this year, the long-term debt of the recycle association could rise to nearly 600-thousand dollars.
