Some new changes for the new year for recycling in Sioux Lookout.
After finding too many waste items in recycling blue bags and bins, the recycling contractor will start performing “spot audits”
This means materials will be checked at the curbside and if waste items are found, a note will be left explaining why it wasn’t collected.
These changes come as more non-recyclable items are found, more sorting is needed, which means more costs for the municipality.
