Red Deer Man Faces Nine Charges In Highway 17 Traffic Stop

A 45-year-old Alberta man is in police custody following a traffic stop on Highway 17, just east of Dryden.

Provincial Police say they received several complaints about a vehicle that was weaving in and out of traffic in Zealand Township.

The calls came in around 8 o’clock Sunday morning.

OPP stopped the vehicle and say the accused was in possession of Methamphetamine.

He was also driving the vehicle while disqualified.

OPP say Paul Rasmussen of Red Deer faces a total of nine charges.

-Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
-Fail to refuse of provide sample
-Possession of Methamphetamine
-Four counts of failing to comply with a recognizance
-Driving while disqualified
-Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a probation order.
